All birth professionals who work with Redwood Doulas have been hand-picked for their combination of skill-set, heart, and professionalism. Since no two families are alike, our diverse group of birth professionals support ALL families.

After your initial consultation with Kymberlie, the owner and CEO of Redwood Doulas, you will be matched up with one to two doulas and scheduled for a Zoom interview to meet them before you decide which one is best for your family.

All birth professionals who work with Redwood Doulas are Independent Contractors and work directly with clients to schedule prenatal meetings, and postpartum and birth support. Redwood Doulas connects families and doulas, handles the contract and financial side of support, and checks in with clients regularly to see how their support and parenting journey is going.

MEET TESS

As a doula, I strive to provide nonjudgmental, inclusive care that honors and respects the unique needs and experiences of each individual. My values of anti-capitalism, mutual aid, and community care inform my approach to doula work, and I prioritize building relationships of trust and collaboration with my clients.

I received my doula certification from Cornerstone Doula Trainings in 2020, while studying at Mills College. In spring 2022, I graduated with a BS in Biology and a BA in Public Health & Health Equity. I left my job as a preschool teacher to fulfill my longtime dream of working as a doula and was honored to also accept a part-time position at Birthing Cultural Rigor, LLC, a perinatal quality improvement firm fighting to end obstetric racism.

My background has led me to appreciate both the medical and the natural. I provide my clients with the latest evidence and science-backed explanations while holding space for our bodies to work their magic. I love to share the knowledge I’ve gained through my years as a birth and child development nerd.

My doula practice is firmly and unapologetically queer- and trans-inclusive, anti-racist, pro-informed consent, pro-autonomy, and pro-choice. I am constantly learning and welcome all opportunities to further educate myself.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my nesting partner and our two cats, honoring my body through dance and swimming, watching documentaries and reality TV, and building community. I am grateful for the opportunity to support others on their journeys and hope to meet you soon!

I have always known myself as a nurturer, but it doesn’t come from nowhere. It all comes from my base foundation:

My mom, Tiloh, was the lovely family’s matriarch and a nurturer. I grew up seeing women in my family empowering and supporting other women in our community during all phases of their lives, through birth, and joy, and when they felt isolated and overwhelmed. This is where I learned that sometimes it takes only a set of helping hands to cause a positive impact in a woman’s life.

Family is important to me, and I have found my true calling in supporting families to create a peaceful transition and comfort when bringing a new baby home.

Becoming a parent is the most rewarding mission in life and it comes with infinite joy and challenges. The experience will be unique for each individual or family but they all have one thing in common: The need for a village to raise new humans.

As your postpartum doula, I want you to thrive and navigate smoothly during your postpartum period. I will offer you nonjudgmental nurturing and support with my knowledge and experience that I have assisted many families throughout my career as a childcare provider.

My name is Stefanne Bianca, but you can call me Bianca! Since I was 15 years old, I started to be interested in the world of parenting, I always liked everything related to pregnancy, birth, family, and development. I've always helped to take care of the children in my family. I've worked as a monitor for children at children's parties, I've been an au pair, and a nanny, and now I'm a doula and a mother.

I have always been proactive and multitasking, but becoming a mother and knowing all the possible hormonal changes in pregnancy, I became even more concerned and cared for the parents and children around me. Now I understand better how much we can care and help. My husband and I didn't have any help with our daughter, which awakened in me the desire to support other families as they go through this very important moment in life.
